Hello there! I’m so happy you’re here. My name is Shonlyn and I’m the human behind Toebean Trims.

Since I was a child, I’ve always had a deep love for animals. This carried me to college, where I got my bachelor’s degree in wildlife biology. I’ve worked with many, many different species of animals throughout my career (ask me if you’re interested!), but cats have always had a special place in my heart.

While working in veterinary medicine for eight years as a veterinary nurse, I’ve learned so much about cat biology, nutrition, medicine, and behavior. Of course, I’ve learned a lot from my own cats as well. I have my own special behavior case kitty who got me reading all the cat behavior books I can get my hands on. All of this has ignited my passion to focus on helping these little predators we keep in our homes.

Outside of all things animals, you can find me on a hike most weekends, dancing, staying cozy with my pets at home, reading, planning my next tattoo, and baking a new recipe. I have two cats, Toasty and Marshmallow, and a Western Hognose snake, Biscuit.
